{% endcontent-ref %}

{% content-ref url="/pages/-MXQay27bER70ZMwYwNT" %}
[Auto Present Door Handle (Handle Light Version)](/evoffer-installation-guide/model-y/auto-present-doors-lighted-handle-version.md)
{% endcontent-ref %}

[Auto Present Door Handles (RGB Edition)](/evoffer-installation-guide/model-y/auto-present-doors-rgb-edition.md)
{% endcontent-ref %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
Caution: Once you remove the door panel, DO NOT close the door without checking on the window level. The window might be raised and will hit on the window trim.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### Front Door Disassemble

Remove the door tweeter by simply pull up the tweeter. Disconnect the connection.

<figure><img src="/files/nUvkIgXxCVh14zdquVpX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Remove the three T-30 screws on the door panels. The back screw is hidden behind the red reflector. Pry out the reflector to reveal the screw.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/D4Kiow5bWFAshis7XH5T" alt=""><figcaption><p>Reflector location</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/8cfNTWNuY4NEVXn4EekV" alt=""><figcaption><p>Torx-30 screw rear position</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/hJCfHW8vi4SSYBsdfpRq" alt=""><figcaption><p>Torx-30 middle position</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/kLzIqqZeSArdghVCVrah" alt=""><figcaption><p>Torx-30 front position</p></figcaption></figure>

Pull out the door panel. Pull directly outward. Fully raise the window. Disconnect the connectors and take out the door panel.

<figure><img src="/files/PHYbQb3e7a44rkUHBs8m" alt=""><figcaption><p>Unhook the wires and disconnect the connections.</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
&#x20;If you think it's too difficult to pull the door panel, sometimes fully lower the window can help you grab the door panel easier.
{% endhint %}

Remove the inner belt. Use a pry tool to release the clips.

<figure><img src="/files/8CfJfsGqYZ1VYpkZHA86" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Remove the plugs that cover the openings in door for access to the regulator guide blocks.

<figure><img src="/files/z8F4GIJ4T32tWgcbdfMo" alt=""><figcaption><p> </p></figcaption></figure>

Remove the bolt that secures the rearmost regulator guide block.

<figure><img src="/files/eIG3j44xzPk6jlAQwm6h" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Loosen (but not remove) the bolt that secures the foremost regulator guide block, and then remove the door glass from the door.

<figure><img src="/files/tD37C8TtaTyiA6sP7b6I" alt=""><figcaption><p>Loosen only</p></figcaption></figure>

Now you can take out the window. If the window is stuck to the rearmost regulator and cannot be pulled out, take out the outer belt seal, and use a plastic wedge in between the glass and the regulator block to release the grip of the regulator block on the glass

<figure><img src="/files/nCYm39IzQTjcSnre2IPm" alt=""><figcaption><p>Don't pull up the seal at a sharp angle or the belt will damage the paint in the front tip. Make sure the angle is small and jiggle it out.</p></figcaption></figure>

![use a long pry wedge to insert into the indicated direction to release the grip](/files/-MkNr3f3ldhm2pi-oIVx)

Disconnect all the connectors on the closeout panel, and also detach the wire from it.

<figure><img src="/files/0oLMTZzz0T9CcixTvEfc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/KRMTieA0cxFJbSPDDtqF" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/cWfIBhv3JMsoqAzs09UZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/JEPF2MiwgLRPmyOJucv5" alt=""><figcaption><p>After disconnect, push down the upper connector down to remove it from the panel</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/UIjF6jFg37SUwTO1nitx" alt=""><figcaption><p>Detach the harness from the panel</p></figcaption></figure>

Unscrew all the 8mm screws from the panel

<figure><img src="/files/AzHEZsSlJqqVcNp3vf7B" alt=""><figcaption><p>Remove the bolts that attach the closeout panel to the door (8mm socket)</p></figcaption></figure>

Remove the plugs that cover the regulator rail fasteners and unscrew the 2 10mm screws revealed.

<figure><img src="/files/njW6sVNFwZg2arS4q9uM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To take out the closeout panel, you need to push the black cover upward first before pulling it outward.

### Rear Door Disassemble

To disassemble the rear door, remove the two T-30 screws and take out the door panel. (There is no screw in the back). Unplug the connections from the wire harness. Before you unplug the connections, raise the window fully up first.

<figure><img src="/files/WFiRtKYldj0ku8gkRGAV" alt=""><figcaption><p>screw locations</p></figcaption></figure>

Disconnect the connectors

<figure><img src="/files/DtDmqRKxpjgHnGzIB987" alt=""><figcaption><p>Puddle light connect is not shown in this picture</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/KxKd1w82LCrkQHXhiTcH" alt=""><figcaption><p>Detach the wire from the panel</p></figcaption></figure>

Release the clips that attach the rear of the inner belt seal to the rear door, and then pull up to release the inner belt seal.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
Use a pry tool to release the clips. Pulling the inner belt seal by hand might damage the clips.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/KAOtxE4WZCCYHRAhaqwh" alt=""><figcaption><p>You don't need to release the front.</p></figcaption></figure>

Now remove the plugs, unscrew the 2 10mm sockets (remove both) and then take the window out.

<figure><img src="/files/mgHfYL55Yj6Umh0xSwJH" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Remove everything from the closeout panel

<figure><img src="/files/WAbAilHiA5UQ0KEVz5kr" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/JWQMWfAUgJNJGEBDtJAn" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/FP5sCrnkMvxnobpmt5MB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/epSfZYMZekquaUAx6yth" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Remove the 2 plugs indicated, and unscrew the 2 screws (10mm hex) revealed, then remove all the 8mm screws surrounding the closeout panel. To take out the panel, you need to push the panel up a bit to release the lock and then pull out.

<figure><img src="/files/g8xcJOIkP7AHyVzPrAhF" alt=""><figcaption><p>Use 10mm socket</p></figcaption></figure>
