Soft Closing Doors (MARK 3)

This is the installation guide for Tesla Model 3 Soft Closing Doors (MARK 3) from EVOffer.

Note: If you receive newer kit, there will be no power tapping cable and power and ground wire. Instead, we will provide 4 power harness that connects inside the door

  3. 10mm Hex Socket

  4. 13mm Hex Socket

  5. T-20 Screwdriver

  6. T-25 Screwdriver

  7. Phillips Head Screwdriver

  8. Wire Fishing Tool

Precaution

Please first check the below items are working normally before installation:

  1. Window glasses are lifted normally

  2. Internal and external unlocking switches

  3. Original car functions

The locking cable shall be placed correctly. In case of serious bending of cable, unsmooth arrangement of cable will affect the effect of locking and closing door.

Installation

Step 1 - Disassemble the door panels

Refer to this guide on removing the door panels. For front door, you don't need to remove the window

Step 2 - Remove the OEM Lock Unit

Remove the 3 T-25 screws holding the lock unit.

Unplug the connector for the OEM lock unit and detach the emergency pull wire you can remove the whole unit.

Step 5 - Install the Latch Motor

Step 6 - Install the Soft Closing Lock Unit

Hook the latch motor wire to the lock unit.

Connect the door lock to the latch motor with the latch motor harness. The connector with grey color to the latch motor, and the black connector to the lock.

Using the power harness provided for each door, connect it as illustrated.

Run the emergency pull wire out to the hole.

Stick the C shape foam provided, as illustrated.

Install the lock with the OEM screws.

Test the soft closing door. Connect the puddle light before testing as the window is raised.

Make sure the window is lowered before you close the door. Without the puddle light connected, the window will be raised and will hit on the window trim when you close the door. Double check before you close the door.
