# Firmware Update

Please follow the instruction to perform a firmware update

You need to prepare the following items:

1. USB Flash Drive OR microSD in **FAT32** format
2. Firmware Update file (our technician will send you a `.zip` file)

### Log Export

1. Extract the `.zip` file and put the folder `bv3d` into the root of the USB Flash Drive
2. Insert the USB Flash Drive into the USB port or the microSD directly into the card slot on the device.
3. You will see a pop-up on the display, running from 0% to 100%.
4. Remove the USB Flash Drive or microSD from the device.
5. The update is completed.

{% hint style="danger" %}
For `board` update, it may take up to 30-45 minutes. You will find the display goes black after step 3. Wait patiently for 30-45 minutes, disconnect the power & microSD from the device, then reconnect power and reboot the car and the update will be completed.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://evoffer.gitbook.io/evoffer-installation-guide/model-3/fusionlink-integrated-carplay-and-android-auto-system/firmware-update.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
