# Firmware Update

To perform a firmware update, you need to prepare the follwing items:

1. Windows PC
2. USB to Type C Cable with data transferring feature
3. HDMI Interface

## Step 1 - Prepare the DFU Flashing Tool

Download DFU Tool and Driver and Driver and unzip all files from the following link:

## Step 2 - Install Driver

Extract the file from `GD32DfuDrivers_V3.6.6.6167.rar` and install the corresponding driver on your computer. Depending on your computer, you may need to install x64 for 64-bit or x86 for 32-bit computer.

## Step 3 - Connect the HDMI Interface to your computer

Remove all connectors from the HDMI Interface.

Locate the DFU Port on the HDMI Interface. Connect the device with a USB (Type A or Type C) to USB Type C cable.

## Step 4 - Firmware Upgrade

Run `GD32 MCU Dfu Tool.exe`, **DO NOT UPDATE** the tool when the window pop up.

Make sure the DFU device is detected and check the box for "Verify after download".

Click the "Open" button at the right side of "DL app file name" and choose the firmware `.bin` provided by our technical support team.

Press OK at the bottom right corner to start flashing.

When the progress bar hits 100%, the update is completed and you can disconnect the device from the computer.
